Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the best women’s ODI team of the year 2024, in which two Indian players have got a place. The team includes India’s star batsman Smriti Mandhana and star all-rounder Deepti Sharma. Apart from India, three players from England, two each from Australia and South Africa, and one player each from Sri Lanka and West Indies have got a place in this team.

The year 2024 was great for Mandhana. This 28-year-old batsman scored 747 runs in 13 ODI matches and was the highest run-scorer of the year 2024. Due to her excellent performance, she has also been nominated for the Best Women’s ODI Player of the Year. She started the year against Australia, but then scored two centuries against South Africa and was the best player of the series.

On the other hand, Deepti also performed brilliantly in 2024. He scored 186 runs in 13 matches and took 24 wickets. On the basis of his all-round game, he made a place in the team.

The captaincy of the ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year has been handed over to South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt, who will open with Mandhana. The team includes experienced players like Chamari Atapattu, Hayley Mathews, and Amy Jones. All-rounders include Marizanne Kapp, Ashley Gardner, and Annabel Sutherland. England’s Sophie Ecclestone and Kate Cross have also made it to the team.
