Delhi: In the last round of the group stage of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Baroda broke many records in T20 cricket. In the match played against Sikkim in Indore, Baroda crossed the 300 mark in just 17.2 overs, and scored 349 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.

Bhanu Paniya, who batted at number 3, played the biggest role in taking the team to this stage. He scored a century in only 42 balls. Openers Shashwat Rawat and Abhimanyu Singh Rajput batted stormy from the beginning. Both added 92 runs in the first 5 overs. However, Rajput was out after scoring 53 runs in 17 balls.

Baroda made the record of being the first Indian domestic team to score 100 runs in the T20 powerplay itself. After this, after 10 overs the team’s score reached 180. The team touched the figure of 200 in just 10.3 overs, which is the record of fastest 200 runs in T20 history. The highest score of the senior Indian team in T20I is 297/6, which they made recently against Bangladesh. Baroda broke this record in the 17th over.
300+ runs have been scored before also
Baroda has become the third team to score 300 runs in T20 history. Earlier, Zimbabwe had scored 344/4 against Gambia this year and Nepal had scored 314/3 against Mongolia in 2023. By doing this historic feat, Baroda has set a new example in Indian domestic cricket.
