He further said, “I am saying goodbye to the Test format, but according to the discussion with the selectors, I will be available for white ball cricket (ODI and T20), whenever the country will need me.”
The Sri Lankan veteran said, “I thank God, my parents, my beautiful wife and children as well as my entire family and close friends who always believed in me, supported me and supported me. Also, I want to thank Sri Lanka cricket and all my coaches for their support.”
Sri Lankan legendary cricketer Angelo Mathews started his Test career against Pakistan in 2009 at the historic ground in Gaul. Just four years later, in 2013, he took the captaincy of Sri Lanka on a tour of England and achieved the distinction of becoming the youngest Test captain in the country.
It was worth noting that in his 16 -year Test career, Mathews played 118 matches, in which he scored 16 brilliant centuries and 45 half -centuries. Apart from this, he also contributed to the ball and took a total of 33 wickets.
