PCB has drastically reduced the match fees of players in the National T20 Championship. Earlier, where the players used to get 1 lakh rupees per match, now it has been reduced to 10 thousand rupees. At the same time, reserve players will get only 5 thousand rupees per match. This tournament starts from March 14.
Players’ facilities are also affected
Along with the reduction in fees, the facilities of the players are also being reduced. Earlier, where he was accommodated in Five Star and Four Star Hotels, now their stay is being arranged in cheap hotels. Apart from this, air travel costs have also been reduced.
According to sources, the outstanding payments of the previous season have not yet been received by the players and the umpires. Apart from this, the annual increase in the pension of former Test cricketers has not been made annually, while it was mandatory under the PCB policy.
It is worth noting that PCB has spent Rs 1.8 billion to upgrade stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi, but the fees and facilities of the players are being cut.
Officers are taking thick salary
While the fees of the players are being reduced, PCB officials are taking salary of lakhs of rupees. The selectors and mentors of the team are also being given a hefty amount. Former cricketers like Misbah ul Haq, Waqar Yunus, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Saklen Mushtaq are being paid Rs 50 lakh per month as mentors.
There is a huge resentment among domestic cricketers due to reduction in match fees and reduction in facilities. He was already struggling for his right, now his difficulties have increased further. This decision of PCB can cause a big loss to Pakistan’s domestic cricket.
