Delhi: In the IPL 2025 season, 14 matches have been played so far, but many teams have complained about the quality of the pitch. They feel that the pitch is not favorable to them despite playing on the home ground. The latest example of this came out in the match played between Lucknow and Punjab on Tuesday. After the defeat, Mentar Zaheer Khan of Lucknow said that it felt as if the curator of Punjab had prepared the pitch, not the home ground of Lucknow.

Instructions of BCCI

Following such complaints, the BCCI has advised all the franchisees to tell the pitch curator in advance, not in the middle of the season. The BCCI believes that no change for the pitch can be made in a week.

According to BCCI sources, there is no major problem on the pitches so far. However, the franchisees have been advised to establish better communication with the curator so that the pitch is balanced for bowlers and spinners.

Need to balance on the pitch

According to the BCCI guidelines, the nature of the pitch should be neither according to any franchise nor any player. The curator should prepare a pitch that is suitable for both fast bowlers and spinners, so that both get a chance to equal.

Unnecessary status of home pitch

In the early stages of IPL 2025, many teams have expressed dissatisfaction with their home pitch. According to the Times of India report, Kolkata Knight Riders have demanded that the pitch of Eden Gardens be favorable for spinners. The management of Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings is also unhappy about their home pitch.

Dissatisfaction on Lucknow pitch

After the defeat against Punjab, Mentor Zaheer Khan of Lucknow expressed his unhappiness on the pitch. He said that the pitch curator did not think that it was his home match and it felt as if the curator of Punjab had prepared the pitch.
