Delhi: India’s star all -rounder and Delhi Capital captain Akshar Patel recently mentioned a funny incident, in which MS Dhoni made him his astrologer. Akshar Patel’s career is moving fast these days, especially after his significant contribution in India’s victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and T20 World Cup 2024. Apart from this, he is also the captain of Delhi Capitals, who has won two consecutive matches with a brilliant start of the season.
Akshar’s friendship with Dhoni
Talking about his friendship with MS Dhoni, Akshar Patel said that when he was part of the Indian cricket team, he used to share his opinion and views with Dhoni. Recalling a fun moment, Akshar said that Dhoni once told him that his planets were not running properly and advised to take some measures to solve it.

Akshar said in a video, “In his photo, he was telling me that my planets are moving here and there. Sometimes a good ball is found or something else. So he advised me to do some rituals. My friendship with Mahai Bhai (MS Dhoni) is very close friendship. When he was the captain of the Indian cricket team, I used to share my views with him.”
Dhoni’s advice changed mentality
Akshar also told that Dhoni messaged him after winning the Champions Trophy and T20 World Cup. He gave credit to Dhoni and said that Dhoni helped in changing his mindset. Akshar said, “But, you know, after the Champions Trophy and T20 World Cup, I got his message. And even before that, when he came as a mentor in the 2021 World Cup, I still talked to him. I used to talk to him about my mindset and now you can see the results. So whatever I have received after that, he goes away because he goes to change the creation of Mahi Bhai because he goes to change the mahi bhai.”
Akshar and Dhoni compete on 5 April
Now, Akshar Patel will once again play against MS Dhoni in the match between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings on 5 April. The match will be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
