Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant ruined a review, but on the next ball he crossed it. LSG captain lost a review in the high-voltage match of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Eden Gardens on Tuesday, 8 April.

The domestic team made a brilliant start, chasing a challenging target of 239 runs on a historic venue of the Eden Gardens. He hit 37 runs in the first 2.1 overs, Quinton de Kock and Sunil Naren took LSG fast bowlers Akash Deep and Shardul Thakur on remand. After consuming a six off the first ball of his second over, Akash bowled a brilliant ball that went from the outer edge of D Cock’s bat.

Rishabh Pant lost a review due to his mistake

The Bengal fast bowler did not hear anything and he turned back and went towards his run up. However, Pant was expecting some help from his fellow players. Seeing the way he reacted, it was known that he had heard something, but he was not completely convinced. There were about five seconds left on DRS timer and then the LSG captain decided to challenge the on-field call. However, there was no action on Ultra Age, due to which LSG lost a review.

On Akash’s next ball, D Cock played a strong shot in the leg side, but she went into the air. The LSG players made an appeal with confidence, but the umpire Edrian Holdstock turned down it. From his response, it seemed that he felt that he could get a wicket on the ball. Pant once again took a review and this time it was successful. After DRS, three raids came and LSG got the first success.

Digvesh Rathi, who was bowling brilliantly in IPL 2025, dismissed Sunil Naren in the seventh over. The Caribbean all-rounder tried to hit a six over the long-off fielder. However, he could not gather enough strength and Eden Markram laid a good catch while sliding his right on the long-off.
