Delhi: The 25th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Chepock Stadium. This match was nothing short of a nightmare for CSK. The team not only lost the match, but also many such records were broken which disappointed the fans. Let’s look at the main records made in this match.
The biggest necklace for CSK
Kolkata achieved the target of 104 runs given by Chennai in just 10.1 overs. This was the third fastest 100+ run target in IPL history. Earlier:
- In 2015, RCB chased 112 runs against KKR in 9.4 overs (over the rain).
- SRH chased 166 against LSG in 9.4 overs in 2024.

Most balls left lost

Fifth consecutive defeat
This is the first time CSK has lost five consecutive matches in an IPL season. Not only this, the team has suffered defeat in three consecutive matches in the Chepock Stadium, which has never happened before.
Shameful record in batting too
In this match, Chennai batted first and scored just 103/9 runs. This is the third lowest score in IPL history. Earlier:

- 97 runs Vs Mumbai Indians, Wankhede, 2022
- 103/9 Vs KKR, Chennai, 2025

The score of 103/9 is the second lowest score of any team at Chepock Stadium. Earlier in 2019, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) scored just 70 against CSK.
CSK’s 6 wicket spinners shock
In this match, 6 CSK batsmen could not stand in front of spin bowlers. This is the first time Chennai’s wickets have fallen against spin in an IPL match.
In this match, the fans had great expectations about Dhoni’s captaincy withdrawal, but the team’s performance could not live up to expectations. Now Chennai has to return, so every match will have to play like a final.
