Delhi: Whenever there is talk of great wicketkeeper batsmen in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s name comes first. However, KL Rahul has emerged as the most spectacular wicketkeeper-batsman so far. Former South African player and former Mumbai Indians coach Mark Boucher believes that Rahul can be a strong option of India’s T20 team in future.
KL Rahul has scored 200 runs in four matches at an average of 66.66 and a strike rate of 163.93, playing in the middle order for Delhi Capitals this season. He has done a great job not only with the bat but also behind the wicket.
What did Mark Boucher say?
Mark Boucher said in a media conversation, “If you just talk about IPL, here we are talking about MS Dhoni but a future, then KL Rahul has performed amazing in both batting and wicketkeeping.”
Boucher further said, “Rahul recently made a comment, which I could add to myself. He said that when he is behind the wicket, he can understand the game better and the same information helps his batting. I think he is the best keeper-batter of this time.”
Along with this, Boucher also praised the remaining wicketkeepers of India. He said, “Dhruv Jurael’s hands are good. Rishabh Pant is getting better every day. He did good wicketkeeping last night. India has many talented options.”
