Delhi: Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen is currently seen in the role of a mentor of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025. Peterson said that he is very fond of working with the players and being a part of the dressing room environment. This role has raised the spirit of competition inside him again. Now they want to help the players improve mental strength, physical fitness and technical skills.

Likes to spend time in the dressing room

Peterson said, “Life is going well. I love working with players and spending time in the dressing room.” According to him, coaching has given him a new purpose to move away from the commentary and join the game.

Reaction to Harry Brooke

Peterson expressed disappointment over England player Harry Brooke’s withdrawal from IPL 2025 for personal reasons. Due to this decision, Brooke also had to bear the ban for two seasons. However, he was later made the captain of England’s ODI and T20 team. Peterson said, “We were disappointed that he did not come, but it was his personal decision. Now he has a big responsibility work.”

Desire to become coach of England team

Peterson has clearly stated that if he gets a chance, he would like to contribute to any role in the England cricket team. He has also informed the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) about this. He said, “I have always been available Rob Key. I still want to bat, but I am very fond of coaching and I want to make the players mentally, technical and physically better. It is easy to see the game by sitting from the commentary box, but coaching is the real challenge.”
