Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) head coach Daniel Vettori believes that the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2025 will not make much impact on the game by umpires to check the bat. He said that the players are already familiar with such investigation process and they will not get any major setback.
It would have been good to investigate during sports days
Vetori laughed and said that I wish he would investigate the umpire bats in the same way even during his playing days. He admitted that this is a good rule, but its effect will be limited because players face this process regularly.
Easy process of checking bat
He explained that the umpires check the width of the bat with a special type of triangular gauge and this work is done very quickly. This rule will help prevent players who try to use larger bats from the rules, but usually passes easily through the bat gauge.

Vettori told that there has been no significant discussion in his team about this rule. He said that he does not think that this will change the design or size of the players.

Vetori also said that the size of the bats and being lighter in weight is the result of the technology and skills of bat makers today. These are designed according to the needs of today’s batsmen, so that they can easily play big shots.
Will benefit from Ishaan Kishan
Prior to the match against Mumbai Indians, Vettori said that his team will try to take full advantage of Ishaan Kishan’s experience. Kishan has previously been a part of Mumbai Indians and is well aware of the circumstances of Wankhede.
Kishan’s experience beneficial for the team
Vitori admitted that Kishan has a good understanding of the ground, pitch, dew and other important things and the coaching staff will fully use this experience. He also praised Kishan and said that he is a great player and his experience will be very useful for the team.
