Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the annual central contracts for the 2024-25 season. This time Shreyas Iyer and Ishaan Kishan have returned, which was excluded from the list of 2023-24. Only four players have got a place in the top category A+, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jaspreet Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Apart from this, many young and emerging cricketers like Rajat Patidar, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harshit Rana have got the central contract for the first time.

The central contract is divided into four categories – after retirement from A+, A, B and C. T20 Internationals, Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja were speculated to be removed from A+ category (which have a salary of ₹ 7 crores annually), but the BCCI has maintained all three in the top category.

In the previous central contract, Ishaan and Iyer were excluded due to some disciplinary issues. However, Iyer has returned to India’s ODI team, while Ishaan has average performance in IPL 2025.

In fact, Shreyas played an important role in India’s ICC Champions Trophy winning team earlier this year. He has got a place in Grade B this time, while Ishaan Kishan has been included in Grade C.
