Delhi: On 22 April, a painful terrorist attack took place at Pahalgam, a beautiful tourist destination in South Kashmir. Some gunmen attacked the common people at the tourist spot. At least 26 people died in this attack and more than 20 people were injured. This incident raged a wave of sorrow and anger in the whole country.
This attack is being strongly condemned across the country. People are mourning on social media and demanding strict punishment for the culprits.
Rajiv Shukla pronounced the verdict
Rajiv Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), described this attack as cowardly and inhuman. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and said that bilateral cricket will not be played between India and Pakistan.
Rajiv Shukla said, “We are with the victims and condemn this attack. Whatever standing the government’s stand, we will run with it. We will not already play a bilateral series with Pakistan and will not play further. Yes, it is our obligation to play in the ICC tournament.”
BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia expressed grief
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia also expressed deep grief over the Pahalgam attack. He said that the entire cricket fraternity is in mourning at this time and is standing with the victim’s families.
Saikia said, “This attack is very painful and intimidating. We strongly condemn this cowardly attack. We are with the families of the dead and pray for them.”
Mi vs will be paid tribute in SRH match
After this attack, BCCI has made special preparations for the match of Mumbai Indians (Mi) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) of IPL 2025. Today, a minute’s silence will be kept before this match to be held at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on 23 April.
Apart from this, players and officials of both teams will wear black armbands. The performance of fireworks and cheerleaders in the stadium has also been canceled, so that tribute can be paid with simplicity on this tragic occasion.
The whole country is currently standing with the afflicted families and unitedly raising its voice against terrorism.
