Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has been quite disappointing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) so far. The team is at the bottom of the points table and to maintain the hopes of the playoffs, it will have to win all the remaining six matches. In this difficult period, questions are now being raised on the batting of the team’s star all -rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Rayudu raised questions on Jadeja
Former CSK player Ambati Rayudu said about Jadeja’s batting position that when he is sent to the top order, he gets confused. Rayudu said in a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, “Jadeja comes to bat after the 15th over. But, when he is sent earlier, he looks confused. He knows the pattern of playing in the last 30 balls. But when he is sent early, he is unable to score immediately.”
Rayudu further said that such players who can score runs with the first ball should send them up. Referring to Brevis and Shivam Dubey, he said that these batsmen are already known for playing aggressive and they can be used better.
Finch also gave special opinion
Former Australia captain Aaron Finch also supported Rayudu’s talk. He said that Jadeja is not the right option to bat at number four. Finch said, “Jadeja’s strike rate is very low in the beginning. It takes time to set them in the first 10 balls. In such a situation, when the team is under pressure, there is no harm to the opposition team from such a slow start.”
Giving the example of AB de Villiers, Finch said that when he used to play at number four, he used to put pressure on the bowling team from the beginning. “Jadeja is not the players who can attack immediately. So sending them up is not proving beneficial for the team.”
So far this season, Jadeja has scored 145 runs in 8 matches at an average of 27.28 and a strike rate of 128.18. He has scored only one half -century. Seeing the condition of Chennai and Jadeja’s form, the pressure on the team management is now clearly visible.
