Delhi: The plight continues in Rajasthan Royals (RR) Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The inaugural season’s champion team has played 9 matches in this IPL so far, out of which only 2 have won, while 7 have lost in 7. With the latest defeat in Delhi, the team has reached the eighth position in the points table.

Rajasthan could not score only 9 runs in the last over against Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while Royal Challengers failed to chase 18 runs in the last two overs against Bangalore (RCB). After the defeat, captain Ryan Parag expressed concern over batting and questioned the performance of lower middle order.

But former Indian leg -spinner Amit Mishra reacted strongly to Ryan’s statement. In a conversation with Cricbuz, Mishra said,
“If you do not give 14 wide balls, the match would have been in your favor. It is easy to blame others, but you should take responsibility for yourself by being captain.”

Mishra also lashed out at Parag’s batting and said, “The shots you were playing at that time was not right, not right. The match should have been thought of ending the match, not to lose wickets in haste. This match was not with 40-50 runs, not very close, victory was in your hands.”

However, amidst the criticism of Mishra, Virender Sehwag favored Rajasthan Royals. He said that the batting of the team was not as bad especially against spinners.

Sehwag said on the cricbuz, “He did not play bad against the spinners. He gave only 31 runs in 4-4 overs and also took wickets. The batsmen had to take some precaution, but as long as Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurlel were at the crease, the match was completely in Rajasthan.”

For Rajasthan Royals, every match has become like or die. In such a situation, the captain pollen and the entire team will have to fulfill accountability, otherwise the expectations of the playoff may end soon.
