Delhi: The Jhinjhari Chowki police under Madhavanagar police station area of Madhya Pradesh arrested three accused, busting the online IPL speculative racket operating from Jaipur. Police have seized two laptops, one WiFi router, seven mobile phones and 15 ATM cards from the possession of the accused.
In this regard, Superintendent of Police Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan said that a team was formed and sent to Jaipur under the leadership of Madhavanagar and Jhinjhari outpost police and cyber cell in -charge Rupendra Singh. With the help of local police, three youths were caught red -handed while betting online. Several objectionable materials were recovered from them, including mobiles, laptops, ATM cards and other equipment.
It is worth noting that on April 27, a case of betting was registered against a young man in Jhinjhri, during the investigation, a link to betting came from Jaipur. Based on this, the team was sent to Jaipur and this action was taken.
SP Abhijeet Kumar Ranjan said that a detailed investigation of the case is going on and further action will be taken on the basis of the facts that come up during the investigation. However, no official information has been received about which matches or teams were betting on the bookies.
This case shows how online betting is spread in various cities and the police is now taking concrete steps to eliminate it from the root.
