Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken a big decision regarding the next year’s Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. It is now clear that the final match of this tournament will be played at the historic Lord’s ground in England. It was already decided that it would be hosted by England, but the situation was not clear regarding the venue of the final. Now the ICC has also announced this.

This is the third time the final of an ICC tournament will be played at Lord’s. Earlier, the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup in 2017 and the men’s ODI World Cup in 2019 were also held here. England became the champion on both occasions. Now it will be seen whether Lord’s ground once again proves lucky for England or not.

Where will the match be held,

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be played in six cities in England. Apart from Lords, Old Trafford, Handingley, Edgebeston, Hampshire Bowl, The Oval and Bristol County Ground have been selected for matches. The tournament will start from June 12 and the final will be on 5 July.

A total of 12 teams will participate in this tournament. They are divided into two groups. There will be 20 matches in the group stage. This will be followed by two semi -finals and a final match.

Which teams have made a place till now,

So far, eight teams have confirmed their place for the tournament. India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies have qualified directly based on their performance of 2024. Apart from this, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have got entry on the basis of T20 rankings. The remaining four teams will be selected through qualifying matches.
