Delhi: Virender Sehwag, former veteran of the Indian team, has openly expressed his opinion on the controversial DRS of Dewald Brevis (DRS) in the match played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. Sehwag believes that in this case, not the umpire, but Brevis himself is guilty, because he did not take a review in time.
A strange situation occurred during the match when Brevis was dismissed, and he pointed for review, but did not allow the review to take the review. The DRS timer was also not seen on the screen, causing the situation to become further confused. However, Virender Sehwag believes that the mistake was of Brevis, as he delayed the review.
Sehwag said in a conversation with Cricbuzz, “Only Brevis can tell why he did not take the review on time. Why he was so late? It was Brevis’s fault, not the umpire. Not to the umpire. The timer is seen on the big screen on the field. He ran first, then he took another. Did he not know that the umpire has given him out?”
He further said, “Okay, I believe it was a wrong decision. It was a big lapse, because the ball was missing the wicket. But, DRS is only to improve such wrong decisions, as soon as the umpire gave out, the 15 -second timer was started on the field. It is a different matter that it did not show us on screen, but why did the brawis spend so much time?”
