Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is in tremendous form under the captaincy of Rajat Patidar in 2025. The team has won 8 out of 11 matches played so far and remains second in the points table with 16 points. RCB’s net runrate is +0.482 and the team is now very close to the playoffs. Of the remaining three matches, only one win will confirm its ticket. However, in the meantime the team has suffered a major setback.

Devdutt diligently out due to injury

Actually, opener Devdutt Padikkal has been out of the whole season due to injury. He is hurt in the right leg hamstring. Padikal scored 247 runs for RCB this season with two half -centuries in 10 matches. His average was 27.44 and the strike rate was 150.61, with his best score 61 runs. He had won the team many times important matches, so his exit is harmful for the team.

Mayank Agarwal joins RCB

However, the management has taken immediate steps and included experienced batsman Mayank Agarwal in the team. Mayank has been signed by RCB as a replacement for Rs 1 crore. Interestingly, Mayank has returned to the same team once again after 12 years, from where he started the IPL career. RCB also wrote about his return on social media, “After 12 years, where he has a heart. Welcome Back Mayank!”

Mayank Agarwal has 2661 runs in 127 IPL matches. His strike rate is 133.05. He has scored a century and 13 half -centuries so far, in which his highest score is 106 runs. He also captained Punjab Kings in IPL 2022.

The next match of RCB is to be against Lucknow Supergiants (LSG), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In such a situation, Mayank’s return can prove beneficial for the team in these important matches.
