Delhi: The impact of the ongoing political tension between India and Pakistan is now clearly visible on the cricket schedule of the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently postponed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a week. Now in view of this stressful situation, the women’s version of the Bengal Pro T20 League has also been postponed indefinitely.

The Bengal Pro T20 Women League is organized by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). This was the second edition of this tournament held successfully last year. The start of the women’s league was scheduled from 16 May, while the men’s league IPL was scheduled to begin on June 4 after the end of 2025.

Cab gave information, new program will be shared soon

The CAB and Bengal Pro T20 League issued a press release on its official social media handles on Friday, 9 May and informed about the adjournment of the tournament. The organization also clarified that the revised program will be announced as soon as the circumstances are favorable.

Cab says that this decision was necessary in view of the current national circumstances. This step has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the players and the audience. Cab said, “When our armed forces are sacrificing their lives to protect the country, then it is also our duty to stop sports and entertainment for some time and give priority to the national interest.”

Cricket stops, the country united

This is not the first state level tournament, which has been postponed after IPL. Cricket activities across the country have come to a standstill in the current situation. The whole country is currently united and stands with the brave soldiers engaged in protecting the government and the country.

The Bengal Cricket Association has expressed confidence that the league will be organized grand and successfully if the circumstances improve.
