Delhi: Bangladesh’s left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has received no-objection Certificate (NOC) from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. However, he has been allowed to play only till the league stage for Delhi Capitals (DC). He will be able to play in IPL from 18 May to 24 May.

Currently, Bangladesh team is in Sharjah to play two T20 matches against UAE. These matches will be held on May 17 and 19. Mustafizur will play in Bangladesh’s first match and then join Delhi Capitals. After this, Bangladesh team will leave on a tour of Pakistan, where it will play a five -match T20 series starting on May 25. BCB wants Mustafizur to return to the team by then.

What did BCB say?

The BCB said in its statement, “According to the decision of the cricket operations, the BCB has allowed Mustafizur Rahman to participate in IPL 2025 from 18 to 24 May. Also, it has also been reported that it will play the first T20 International match against UAE on 17 May.”

Delhi Capitals included Mustafizur in the team in place of Jake Fraser-Morgark, but the dispute occurred when the BCB said that he was not informed about playing in the IPL. According to reports, Mustafizur will leave the team after playing the first match against UAE and join Delhi Capitals.

DC can find it difficult in playoffs

Delhi Capitals are currently at number five in IPL 2025 points table with 13 points in 11 matches. He is just 1 point behind the number four Mumbai Indians (Mi), who has played a match more.

Three remaining matches of Delhi are against the top teams:

  • May 18: Gujarat Titans
  • May 21: Mumbai Indians
  • May 24: Punjab Kings

If Delhi reaches the playoffs, Mustafizur will not be available there, because at that time he will be busy in the series against Bangladesh against Pakistan.
