IPL Governing Council extended extra time of matches by one hour, read big news: IPL matches now one hour longer.

The 18th exciting season of IPL is being played between all 10 teams at this time. Some teams have made a place in the playoffs by performing brilliantly. So at the same time, some teams are seen doing two or two hands to make a place in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the IPL’s Governing Council has taken a major decision regarding the time of the matches. Following the guidelines of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Governing Council has extended the additional time prescribed for the IPL match for one hour.

All IPL Games will have an additional 120 -minute waiting period from Tuesday 20 May. Earlier this period was only one hour and the BCCI said that changes in sports circumstances are being implemented with immediate effect due to IPL rules (13.7.3).

According to the reports of the cricbing, the BCCI communicated with all the 10 franchises, saying, earlier, in the conditions of matching it was determined that for league matches, an additional 60 minutes of additional time would be available to start the match in case of delay.

In playoff matches, this time was increased to 120 minutes. In view of the current rains and the revised program, the IPL Governing Council has decided that from May 20, 2025, there will be an additional 120 minutes to start the match in all IPL matches (including league matches).
