In response, Sai Sudarshan played a brilliant innings of 80 runs in 49 balls for GT and kept hopes till the last over. Gill praised Sai Sudarshan and Washington Sundar, who kept a thrilling chase by batting brilliantly under pressure. However, the Indian Test captain admitted that his team gave at least 18 runs more on Mullanpur pitch, as three important catches were missed.

Gill said, “What a great match, we were fighting till the last. The last three-four overs did not go in our favor, but still it was an excellent match. We had to leave three easy catches. It was not easy for the bowlers to stop the runs, especially when you leave such catch. My message was clear to Sai and Washington-just playing your natural game and winning us. Run would have been an equal score. “

Gill further said, “There have been many positive things for us. The last two-three matches have not been good for us, but credit to all the players, especially Sai-he was amazing for us this season.” Gujarat Titans are now out of IPL 2025. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians will now play qualifier 2 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
