Delhi: Former Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar believes that in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Punjab Kings (PBKS) may suffer slight damage compared to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). According to Gavaskar, the Punjab team had to work hard in qualifier-2 against Mumbai Indians (Mi) and soon after playing the final, the effect of players’ physical fatigue can be seen.
RCB gets 4 days rest
Gavaskar said that the Bangalore team will freshen up completely because they have got four days of rest after qualifier-1. He said, “RCB has got a 4 -day break, due to which they will be in physical and mentally better position. On the contrary, Punjab has got only one day time, and that too when the match against Mumbai ended late at night.”
Experience will not matter so much
Punjab Kings have played 2 matches at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad this season and have won both. Defeated Gujarat Titans by 11 runs and then defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in qualifier-2. But RCB has not played any match in IPL 2025 on this ground yet.
However, Gavaskar said that this will not make much difference as RCB is in great form at this time. He said, “There is a tremendous rhythm in both RCB batting and bowling, so they will not have any problem with the ignorant of the field.”
RCB has more experience
This will be the fourth IPL final of RCB. Prior to this, he was runner -up in 2009, 2011 and 2016. At the same time, Punjab Kings have reached the finals for the second time, last time in 2014 she lost to Kolkata Knight Riders.
