Delhi: 2 days after the accident at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, a local social worker has demanded from the police that cricketer Virat Kohli should be made the main accused in this case. Social activist HM Venkatesh has lodged a complaint at Kabban Park Police Station. Police said that an FIR has already been registered in this case and Venkatesh’s letter will be investigated.
How did the accident happen
On Wednesday, a huge crowd gathered outside the stadium to celebrate RCB’s IPL victory. This event was organized by the Karnataka State Cricket Association. Due to free pass distribution and low number of seats in the stadium, the crowd out became uncontrollable and stampede. In this accident, 11 people lost their lives and several dozen people were injured.

Politics also intensified after the accident. The BJP accused the Congress government of the state of chaos and negligence in security. In response, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah suspended the Bengaluru Police Commissioner and 4 other officers. Government relief and compensation
Expressing grief over the accident, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a assistance of ₹ 10 lakh to the families of the deceased. Also, it was announced to treat the injured people for free. So far, 47 injured have been treated and they have been discharged from the hospital.
