Delhi: Veteran South Africa batsman AB de Villiers shared the emotional video on the first IPL win of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RCB defeated Punjab Kings in 2025 to win its first IPL Trophy after 17 years. De Villiers shared this historic moment with his emotional fans on social media.

RCB’s home -like atmosphere shown in the stadium

De Villiers told how the atmosphere was completely in support of RCB despite having a neutral venue at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He said, “When I reached the stadium, the sun had set but the red color of RCB was felt in the whole sky. There was a color on red and golden jersey, flags and faces everywhere. It seemed as if it was our house.”

Emotional moment with Virat Kohli

De Villiers also remembered a special moment with Virat Kohli in the last moments of the match. He said, “Virat was standing on the long off during the match and I got my eyes. Nobody said anything, but everything was in that look. Our years of hard work, incomplete dreams, all were clearly visible in that one moment. There were also tears, but there was more relaxed, one understanding that this victory is also ours.”

The years of De Villiers were special for RCB

De Villiers played for RCB for 11 years and scored 4522 runs. He is the second biggest run scorer in RCB and has won the ‘Player of the Match’ award 25 times in IPL history. However, RCB never won the trophy while playing. Therefore, this victory was also very special for him.
