New Zealand has won the first test match of the 3-match test series between India and New Zealand. In the first match played in Bengaluru, the Kiwi team performed strongly and defeated India by 8 wickets and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

In this match played at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, New Zealand had a target of 107 runs to win. The Kiwi team achieved this target by losing only 2 wickets. In which for New Zealand, Will Young scored 48* and Rachin Ravindra scored 39* and gave his team a spectacular victory by 8 wickets.

In this match, New Zealand performed brilliantly in batting, bowling as well as fielding. After dismissing Team India’s second innings at a score of 462 runs on the fourth day, they set out to chase the target of 107 runs. Here they lost the wickets of captain Tom Latham and Devon Conway, but Will Young and Rachin did not give any chance to India and made an easy victory by making a partnership of 75 runs for the third wicket.

Team India, which was looking to make it to the final match of the ICC World Test Championship for the third consecutive time, was considered to be the favorite in this match, but in the first innings, Team India collapsed on the score of only 46 runs. After which New Zealand took a huge lead of 356 runs by scoring 402 runs in the first innings and this lead proved to push Team India towards defeat in this match.
