Delhi: The Indian cricket team is currently on a tour of England, where they have to play a 5 Test series. This series will start from June 20. Meanwhile, experienced fast bowler Umesh Yadav has once again expressed his desire to return to Team India. He last played for the Indian team in June 2023 against Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. India had to face defeat by 209 runs in that match. Umesh bowled a total of 40 overs in both innings, in which he took 2 wickets for 131 runs. Since then, he is walking out of the team and waiting for a comeback.
‘I can’t choose myself’
Umesh Yadav recently shared his feelings in an interview. He said that he cannot choose himself in the team, but efforts to return are continuing. He said, “Efforts to come back have been fulfilled. I cannot choose myself. I have to play some matches, fit and play cricket continuously to return. My best effort is to return to the team by fit.”
Umesh also remembered the early stages of his cricket career. He told that when he started playing cricket, he never thought that he would play for India one day. He said, “I am a natural fast bowler. I have been bowling fast since childhood. I have never practiced in an academy or nets. I just kept playing. Sometimes someone asked to play a match, sometimes someone has for another. I think the things that are fixed, I always believe that fast bowlers are congenital, they cannot be made.”
So far Umesh Yadav has played 57 Test matches for India and he has 170 wickets. Looking at his experience and passion, it will be interesting to see if he can once again be a part of the Indian Test team or not.
