South African team finalized for tri-series; selectors explored Klassen’s availability.

Delhi: South African selectors have announced their 15 -member team for the T20 TRAI series to be held in Zimbabwe. This time the team’s command has been handed over to Rasi van Dar Dusain. Significantly, in the last T20 series, Henrik Klassen was responsible for captaincy, but he has retired from international cricket to play franchise leagues. In such a situation, now the responsibility of captaincy has been given to Dusain, who has captained South Africa before.

Not only this, the selectors have included Rubin Harman as the main wicketkeeper, who is considered to be the option of Klassen. Harman is known for his aggressive batting and brilliant wicketkeeping.

The series will start from July 14, while the final match will be played on 26 July. Teams from New Zealand and South Africa along with host Zimbabwe will participate in this tri-series.

Four players have a chance in the team for the first time

This time the selectors have also given a chance to young players. Four such players have been included in the team, who can debut in T20 international cricket for the first time. These include the names of Corbin Bosch, Luhan Dre Pretorius, Rubin Harman and Senuran Muthusamy.

Cricket South Africa has said that the entire team will gather at the Center of Excellence in Pritoria on 9 July and will leave for Harare on 11 July.
