Delhi: New Zealand cricket team’s new head coach Rob Walter has announced its team for the T20 tri -series against Zimbabwe and South Africa in July, which does not include veteran batsman Divon Conway. The series will be played in Zimbabwe from 14 to 26 July.
Conway is one of the many major players who have given priority to foreign T20 leagues, leaving the central contract of New Zealand cricket. Conway played the last match for New Zealand during the T20 World Cup in June 2024.

Auckland’s 23 -year -old batsman Bevan Jacobs has got a chance for the first time in the team. Jacobs was part of the team for the series against Sri Lanka in December last year, but he did not get a chance to play any match.
Fast bowler Adam Milne has returned to the team. He performed brilliantly in Major League cricket in America and has returned to the team for the first time since November 2024.
Batsmen Finn Ellen and Tim Cifrt have also returned. Finn Ellen recently hit the world record 19 sixes in the 151 -run innings in Major League cricket, playing for San Francisco Unicorn. The team will be captained by all -rounder Mitchell Santner.
Coach Rob Walter said, “We have a strong team for this tour and I am excited to start practicing by bringing the players together. There is a good presence of experience in the team and it was nice to see that some players who did not play in the march series against Pakistan due to IPL are making a comeback now.”
Significantly, all the matches of this tri -series will be played in Harare.
