Calcutta High Court has ordered cricketer Mohammed Shami to give Rs 4 lakh to his wife Haseen Jahan and daughter every month. Hasin described this decision as his victory but described the amount of alimony as low and demanded to increase it.

Delhi: Indian star bowler Mohammed Shami may not be a part of the India vs England Test series, but he remains in the headlines due to his personal life. Earlier this week, the Calcutta High Court ordered Team India fast bowler Mohammad Shami to give his wife Haseen Jahan and daughter to give a living of Rs 4 lakh every month. According to the court order, Shami will have to pay Rs 1.5 lakh to Haseen Jahan every month and Rs 2.5 lakh for daughter.

Shami and Haseen Jahan were married in 2014. However, in 2018, Hasin filed a case accusing Shami of domestic violence and infidelity. Since then, a legal battle is going on between the two. After this decision, Haseen Jahan said that this is a big win for him. But, he also said that in view of Shami’s lifestyle, 4 lakh rupees are less. He had demanded every month for every month four years ago and has still reiterated the same demand.

Hasin Jahan demanded in front of Shami

Haseen Jahan said in a conversation with PTI, “According to the way Shami lives life, we had a demand of Rs 10 lakhs earlier and will still do it. This decision is a big victory for me. I am thankful to Imtiaz Bhai and Honorable Judge. But, there should be more money for the care and needs of the daughter.”

Hasin Jahan’s lawyer Imtiaz Ahmed called this order a big step. He said that when the case is heard again in the trial court, this amount can increase up to 6 lakh rupees. He says that Haseen had demanded 7 lakh and 3 lakh rupees in the court.

This decision has come in a long legal case that started in 2018, when Haseen accused Shami and his family of domestic violence in Alipur court. Then the court had fixed an interim alimony of 80 thousand rupees for the daughter.

Shami has not said much in the public so far. But, now after the order of the High Court, it will be necessary to give them this amount every month until the trial court takes any other decision.
