Delhi: On the first day of the Manchester Test against England, the Indian Test team suffered a major setback when wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant went out of the field. Pant has fractured in the right toe and has been advised to comfort at least six weeks.

Vox’s ball hurt

In the 68th over of India’s first innings, Pant was batting for 37 runs, when he tried to play a reverse sweep against England fast bowler Chris Woakes, the ball went straight to his right foot shoes. After this, Pant fell on the ground groaning with pain.

Called physio, went out of the field

In severe pain, Pant immediately took off his gloves and called the physio. After a preliminary investigation of the physio, he was taken out of the ground after sitting in the medical team’s car.

BCCI confirmation: out for six weeks

Now according to the latest news, the BCCI confirmed that Pant had a fracture in the leg and has been given six weeks of rest. A source in the board told The Indian Express, “The scan report confirmed the fracture. The medical team is seeing if they can bat again with painkillers. But, at the moment they need support and their chances of playing are very low.”

Ishaan Kishan will be included in the team

In such a situation, Pant will not be able to play in the last Test match, so the reports claim that the selection committee has decided to include wicketkeeper batsman Ishaan Kishan in the team in his place. The fifth and final Test match will be played from 31 July to 4 August at the Oval ground in London.

It is worth noting that during the third Test played at Lord’s earlier, Pant’s left hand was hurt while wicketkeeping in the index finger.

Talking about the match, Pant retired for 37 runs due to injury and Ravindra Jadeja landed on the ground. Subsequently, Jadeja (19*) and Shardul Thakur (19*) handled the Indian innings. In this way, India’s score was 264 runs at the loss of 4 wickets till the stumps.
