An interesting incident was also seen during the first match, when captain Suryakumar Yadav clashed with Marco Jansen of South Africa in support of Sanju Samson.

During the match, Yansen was angry with Samson repeatedly coming on the pitch and expressed his disagreement to Samson. Seeing this, Suryakumar became angry and Samson also joined the debate. The incident occurred in the 15th over of the South African innings, when Jansen complained about coming in Samson’s way, while Suryakumar said that Marco himself was coming in Samson’s way while he was taking runs. Seeing the matter escalating, Gerald Coetzee and the umpire standing at the non-striker’s end came to intervene. After this, Suryakumar also shared his views with umpires Lubabalo Gakuma and Stephen Harris.

Suryakumar Yadav, who usually appears calm on the field, appeared angry for the first time. Talking about the match, after losing the toss and batting first, the Indian team scored 202 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs on the basis of Sanju Samson’s explosive inning of 107 runs. In response, South Africa collapsed for 141 runs in 17.5 overs. Now India’s eyes will be on winning the second T20 and taking an unassailable lead in the series.
