Delhi: A sad news has come out from the cricket world. Former Australian batsman Ian Redpath has died at the age of 83. He played international cricket for 10 years and made Australia win many important matches with his excellent batting. There has been a wave of mourning in the cricket community due to his demise.

Made test debut in 1964

Redpath made his Test cricket debut in 1964 against South Africa. He scored 97 runs in his debut match, but missed a century. He played 66 test matches in his career and scored 4737 runs, which included 8 centuries and 31 half-centuries. His best score was 171 runs. He made his debut in ODI in 1971 and scored 46 runs in 5 matches.

Cricket Victoria chairman Ross Hepburn expressed deep sadness at Redpath’s death, saying he had left an invaluable legacy to cricket at national, state and local level. His friendship and contributions will always be remembered.

Great performance in first class cricket

Redpath scored 14993 runs in 226 first class matches, which included 32 centuries and 84 half-centuries. He also has 255 runs in his name in 16 List-A matches. He was inducted into Australia’s Hall of Fame last year. He also scored 8 centuries in 66 Test matches for the Kangaroo team. He remained active in international cricket for 10 years.
