SMAT 2024: In the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Tournament, today on 3rd December, a match was played between Baroda and Karnataka. Let us tell you that in this match, Chennai Super Kings’ new fast spin bowler Shreyas Gopal, while taking a hat-trick, has dismissed the dangerous Hardik Pandya for zero.

In the match, Gopal came to bowl the 11th over of Baroda’s innings. During this, he completed a hat-trick by dismissing Shaswat Rawat (63), Hardik Pandya (0) and Krunal Pandya (0) in three consecutive balls. However, the excellent performance by the player in the match could not help his team win.

It is noteworthy that this cricketer, who played domestic cricket for Karnataka in the mega auction of IPL 2025 last month, was bought by five-time champion Chennai Super Kings for a base price of Rs 30 lakh. So Gopal, who performs well on the spin track, can prove to be quite lethal with Ravichandran Ashwin on a ground like Chepauk. It will be worth seeing how Shreyas is going to perform for CSK in the upcoming IPL season.

Baroda won the match by 4 wickets

On the other hand, if we tell you the condition of this match, despite the excellent performance of Shreyas Gopal (4/19), his team had to face defeat by four wickets. Earlier in the match, Karnataka scored 169 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Smaran Ravichandran played brilliant innings of 38 and Abhinav Manohar scored 56* runs for the team. So if we talk about Baroda’s bowling, Krunal Pandya and Aditya Seth got 2-2 wickets. Apart from this, Lakman Meriwala and Akash Maharaj Singh got 1 success each.

After this, when Baroda set out to chase the target of 170 runs given by Karnataka, it easily achieved this target by losing 6 wickets in 18.5 overs. For Baroda, opener Shaswat Rawat played 63 runs and in the middle order, Bhanu Paniya played a match-winning inning of 42 runs.
