Delhi: On the first day of the pink-ball Test in Adelaide, India’s batting was in trouble against the Australian fast bowlers. In such a situation, Nitish Kumar Reddy made a restrained start and gradually accelerated his innings and took the team to 180 runs. Playing in an aggressive style, he scored 42 runs in 54 balls and made an important contribution to the team. Indian fielding coach Ryan ten Doeschate praised young all-rounder Nitish and said that he has a very good future in cricket.

‘Nitish proved himself on every occasion’
Ten Doeschate said in the press conference after the match, “We are very happy with his performance. He has worked hard since the beginning. His journey from his preparation in Perth till now has been wonderful. His contribution was very important in reaching 150 runs in the first match. This is his first pink-ball Test, and he has played three excellent innings. He is still a raw player, but to show such performance at the age of 21 is praiseworthy.”
He further said, “Nitish has got the opportunity to bat at number 7, and he has fully capitalized on it. There may be discussion about Washington Sundar not playing, but Nitish has proved himself on every occasion. We believe that his game has the potential to reach great heights.”
