Brook’s magic was also visible in the second Test against New Zealand, when England was in trouble at 43/4, he played a brilliant inning of 123 runs in 115 balls and took the team to 280 runs. His innings contributed significantly to England’s victory.
Root praised Brook
England’s experienced player Joe Root also praised Brook. He said, “Brooke is one of the best players in the world right now. His game is brilliant in every way. He can perform even under pressure, can hit big shots and can become a challenge for any bowler.”
Ben Stokes also appreciated
England captain Ben Stokes also praised Brook’s innings. He said, “It is very special to bring the team to such a position after falling four wickets for 40 runs on the first day. The way Brook played on a difficult wicket is praiseworthy. It was not easy to score 120 runs on such a pitch, but he did it.”
Brook’s brilliant performance has taken him to the ranking of the world’s number two Test batsman. This also shows the dominance of England, because Joe Root is at number one in this list.
England will be eyeing a whitewash in the third and last test of this series. The match will start on December 14, and Brook is expected to give a big performance once again.
