Delhi: During the third Test match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025, both the weather conditions and Australia’s strong cricket were seen. The third day’s play at Gabba ended early due to rain and bad light. In reply to Australia’s first innings score of 445 runs, India ended the day at 51/4. The series is currently tied at 1-1, but now Australia seems to be in a position to move ahead. Although the weather is expected to continue fluctuating in the next two days, India still has to overcome a huge margin of 394 runs.
Isa Guha apologized for calling Bumrah ‘Primate’, Ravi Shastri gave such a reaction
All the batsmen were out after playing bad shots.
The game started after the rain, but it was a bad start for the Indian team. Yashasvi Jaiswal played Mitchell Starc’s ball near the slips for a four, but was caught at short midwicket on the very next ball. After this, Shubman Gill also returned after giving a brilliant catch to Mitchell Marsh in a hurry to play the ball going outside the off stump.
There were a lot of expectations from senior batsman Virat Kohli, especially considering his excellent record in Australia. But, he looked uncomfortable on Starc’s short ball and then got caught while trying to play a shot outside the off stump on Josh Hazlewood’s ball. After this India’s score became 22/3.
Rain caused repeated disturbances
Rishabh Pant came to the crease, but then the rain started again, and the players returned to the dressing room. The game started again after early lunch. Pant tried to show restraint this time, but was caught out in the slip off the ball of Pat Cummins.
India were in trouble at 44/4, but KL Rahul gave some hope with cover drives. The game was repeatedly interrupted by rain, but Rahul maintained his composure and remained at the crease with captain Rohit Sharma.
Now the road ahead looks difficult for India, but the team needs to reduce this big score difference.
