Delhi: Australia had to face a big problem before the fourth day of the third Test match against India at Gabba in Brisbane. The team’s leading fast bowler Josh Hazlewood got injured. However, he appeared on the field in the first hour of the day and also bowled one over, but after that he had to leave the field. Hazlewood is having problems with his calf muscles, due to which he was taken to the hospital for a scan. Only after the scan will it be clear whether he will be able to play further in this match or not.

Hazlewood’s injury is a big problem for Australia

Josh Hazlewood will not be available in the first session of the fourth day, but there is a question about his bowling in the second session. If his injury is serious, then Australia may have to take a decision to keep Hazlewood out of this match, especially keeping in mind the remaining two matches of the series. Cricket Australia itself has informed that Hazlewood’s condition will become clear only after the scan.

Hazlewood’s previous injury and comeback

Due to injury, Josh Hazlewood was not a part of the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide and Scott Boland was included in the team in his place. Boland performed well, but Hazlewood made a comeback in the Gabba Test. He bowled well in the Perth Test. If Hazlewood is not available in this match, then there will be more pressure on Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Apart from this, Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Marsh will also have to bowl, because Marsh has not bowled much in Adelaide and Brisbane.
