Delhi: The third match of the 5-Test series between India and Australia seems to be heading towards a draw in Brisbane. On the fourth day of the match, Team India succeeded in avoiding follow-on. India’s first innings score till stumps was 252/9. Australia had scored 445 runs in its first innings. At the time of stumps, Akash Deep was unbeaten on 27 and Jasprit Bumrah was unbeaten on 10 runs for India.

Brilliant innings of Rahul and Jadeja
At the beginning of the fourth day, KL Rahul played important innings of 84 runs and Ravindra Jadeja played 77 runs, which improved the team’s condition. There was a partnership of 67 runs between the two for the sixth wicket. After this, Jadeja along with Nitish Kumar Reddy made another partnership of 53 runs. Nitish scored 16 runs, while Mohammad Siraj was out after scoring only 1 run.
Poor performance by India’s top order
India’s top order batsmen disappointed in the first innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after scoring 4 runs, Shubman Gill 1 and Virat Kohli was out after scoring 3 runs. After these batsmen, big innings could not be expected from the middle order batsmen also. Rishabh Pant returned to the pavilion after scoring 9 runs and captain Rohit Sharma after scoring 10 runs.
Australia’s strong start
Australia batted brilliantly in its first innings. Travis Head scored 151 runs, Steve Smith scored 101 runs and Alex Carey scored 70 runs. Jasprit Bumrah took 6 wickets for India, but still Australia made a strong score.
India won the toss and decided to bowl.
On the first day of the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. India made two changes in this match. Ravichandran Ashwin and Harshit Rana were dropped and in their place all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Akash Deep were included in the playing eleven.
