Delhi: Indian team’s young opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has achieved a big achievement in the Boxing Day Test being played against Australia in Melbourne. Jaiswal has achieved the feat of scoring 50 or more runs for the 11th time within a year. This achievement has been achieved by an Indian batsman after 41 years. Earlier, GR Vishwanath in 1979 and Mohinder Amarnath in 1983 had scored 50+ scores 11 times in a calendar year.

With this record, Jaiswal has joined the list of great batsmen of Indian cricket. The record of scoring most 50+ scores in a year for India is in the name of Virender Sehwag, who did this 13 times in 2010. Whereas, Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar had scored 50+ scores 12-12 times in 2010 and 1979 respectively.
This excellent form of Jaiswal has made him one of the reliable batsmen of the Indian team. His achievement has increased the excitement among Indian cricket fans and he is being seen as a big star of the future.
