Delhi: Former Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently revealed that his dream of playing Test against Pakistan remained unfulfilled. Ashwin said in an interview given on Gobinath’s YouTube channel that since childhood he dreamed of playing a Test match against Pakistan, but it could never be fulfilled.

The schedule of the World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle has been revealed, India will play series against these 6 teams

38-year-old Ravichandran Ashwin said, “I was inspired to play cricket after seeing Sadagopan Ramesh. He was the first player from Tamil Nadu, who scored runs without pressure at the international level. His innings against Pakistan were an inspiration for me and I used to see him playing even in my dreams.”

Ashwin further said, “I regret not being able to play the Test against Pakistan, but it is something beyond my control. Now there is no use in getting too worried thinking about it.”

Retired after Brisbane Test

Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket after the Brisbane Test played between India and Australia on 18 December. 38-year-old Ashwin announced this in a press conference with captain Rohit Sharma. In his career, he took 537 Test wickets and also won the ‘Player of the Series’ award 11 times, which is a record.

It is noteworthy that the statement of the right-arm off-spinner highlighted the incomplete aspect of his career, which is an emotional moment for his fans too.
