Delhi: Two players were seriously injured while playing against Perth Scorchers during a match in Australia’s T20 Big Bash League on Friday night.
Both players admitted to Perth hospital
Sydney Thunder team officials said that opener Cameron Bancroft has suffered a fracture in the shoulder bone and nose, due to which his game this season is over. At the same time, his partner Daniel Sams also got injured in the collision. Sams was briefly unconscious during the collision, and both players had to be carried off the field on stretchers.
Both players were admitted to Perth hospital after the injury. Doctors told that both of them have suffered concussion due to head injury. Sams has been advised to take rest for at least 12 days. Both players are currently in no condition to travel with their teammates and will have to spend another night in hospital in Perth.
Meanwhile, Sydney Thunder registered a thrilling win on the last ball. Perth Scorchers had scored 177-4 while playing first, in response to which Sydney scored 179-6 and won the match by 4 wickets.
