Delhi: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the induction of its four legendary players – Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Mohammad and Saeed Anwar into the PCB Hall of Fame for 2024. PCB gave this information on Friday.

Usually, PCB inducts two former cricketers into the Hall of Fame every year, but due to not inducting any player in 2023, this time they have given this honor to four players.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said on the occasion, “On behalf of the Pakistan Cricket Board, I congratulate these four great cricketers. “This honor is a symbol of his unprecedented contribution to Pakistan cricket and global sport.”

Former captain Inzamam ul Haq is one of the most successful batsmen of Pakistan. He has scored 11701 runs in ODI cricket and is at third place in Test cricket with 8829 runs. As captain, Inzamam led Pakistan in 31 Tests and 87 ODIs. His Test career includes 25 centuries, 17 of which came in wins. Seven of his 10 centuries in ODIs proved important in Pakistan’s victory.

Misbah-ul-Haq took the Pakistan team to new heights. He captained in 56 Test matches and won 26. Misbah has 5,122 runs in 162 ODIs, which is the record for scoring the most runs without a century. He scored 42 half-centuries, but could not reach a century.

Mushtaq Mohammad proved to be an excellent all-rounder for Pakistan, scoring 3,643 runs and 79 wickets in 57 Test matches between 1959 and 1979. Under his captaincy, Pakistan registered a historic victory by defeating Australia in the Sydney Test in 1977.

Saeed Anwar is remembered for his brilliant batting. He scored 4,052 runs in 55 matches in Tests and 8,824 runs in 247 matches in ODIs. He has many memorable innings to his name in ODI cricket.

Chairman Naqvi said, “These four players have given a new identity to Pakistan cricket in their respective times. “His achievements will inspire young players and strengthen Pakistan’s cricket legacy.”
