Delhi: The new year has started and Team India is on the verge of playing its first series at home. The 5-match T20I series against England will start from January 22. For this, the Indian team has been announced, in which veteran fast bowler Mohammed Shami has returned after 14 months. Shami last played international cricket in the 2023 ODI World Cup, after which he had ankle surgery.
In this series, the Indian team will be captained by Suryakumar Yadav, while Akshar Patel will be the vice-captain. Meanwhile, all eyes will be on young fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, who has performed brilliantly since his debut in 2022. Arshdeep has so far taken 95 wickets in 60 T20I matches at an average of 18.10. Not only this, if Arshdeep takes 5 wickets in this series, he will become the first Indian bowler to take 100 wickets in T20I. He will also be the 9th fast bowler in the world to achieve this feat.
