Delhi: The South African team has suffered a big setback before the Champions Trophy 2025. The team’s leading fast bowler Enrique Norkhia is out of the tournament due to injury. The scan done on Monday made it clear that his injury is very serious and he will not be able to recover completely before this big 50 over tournament.
Norkhia out of Champions Trophy
South Africa had announced its team on Monday, in which Enrique Norkhia was also included. However, Norkhia has been away from international cricket since June last year. His last match was in the Abu Dhabi T10 League on 2 December. After this, he also ruled out Test cricket in the 2024/25 season, so that he can fully recover from his injury and focus on his franchise career.
Even before the Champions Trophy team was announced, Norkhia was out of the matches due to injury, but it was believed that his fitness had already improved and he could play matches for the team in the Champions Trophy.
