Delhi: After Sanju Samson did not get a place in the Indian team for the 2025 Champions Trophy, his father Samson Vishwanath fiercely attacked the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). He alleged that some people were stopping his son from progressing in KCA. Sanju had scored a century in his last ODI and T20 match, yet he was not selected in the Indian team.
Sanju’s father reacted
Sanju Samson, who was part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup 2024, was the captain of Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year. Despite this, he was not included in the team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
KCA did not give a chance
KCA Secretary and President said that Sanju was kept out of the selection for not participating in the three-day practice camp, but Sanju’s father had already understood that he would not be selected in the team. He said that this decision had already been taken.
Sanju Samson’s father said: “There are people within KCA who have something against my child, We’ve never spoken out against the association before, but this time, it’s become too much. Sanju isn’t the only one who didn’t attend the camp“ (Mathrubhumi)

Objection regarding old decisions of KCA
Referring to the old decisions of KCA, Sanju’s father said that earlier also his elder son was not given a chance to play due to injury. He mentioned an incident when the then KCA president TC Mathew had insulted his injured son for taking leave.
Samson’s father said, “We are players, we have no interest in the business of sports. I just want my son to get a fair chance. If there is any mistake, we are ready to discuss and try to correct it.”
