According to the PTI report, Sanju Samson has suffered an injury to the index finger of the right hand, due to which he will stay away from cricket for 5 to 6 weeks. The injury was hit by England fast bowler Jofra Archer during the fifth T20 match played at Wankhede Stadium. Due to this injury, he will not be able to play for Kerala even in the Ranji Trophy quarter -finals. It has been said in the report that Sanju has now returned to Thiruvananthapuram and will start practicing again only after rehab in NCA. They need to get approval from NCA to return to competitive cricket.

There may be a return in IPL

According to sources, Sanju will not get a chance to play in the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals against Jammu and Kashmir in Pune from 8 to 12 February. However, his return may be with Rajasthan Royals during the IPL.

Out of ODI team

Sanju Samson is not part of the three -match ODI series against England, nor is he in the team selected for the Champions Trophy. His performance in the T20 series was not good. Sanju scored just 51 runs in five matches and he could not score a single half -century against England.
