Delhi: After the defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia, BCCI implemented 10 strict rules for the players. In the new rules, a rule is ‘ban on traveling with family’, according to which, if a tour is more than 45 days long, players can keep their family with them for 2 weeks. However, now news is coming that BCCI can consider giving some discount in this rule.
India’s schedule in Champions Trophy
The Indian team will reach Dubai on 15 February. After this, there will be a high-voltage match between Bangladesh on 20 February, then India and Pakistan on 23 February. The last match of the group stage will be against New Zealand on 2 March. If the team reaches the final, it will remain in Dubai till March 9. This entire schedule will be for a total of 24 days, due to which the wives or families of the players will not be able to go with them.
BCCI gave a new option
According to a board official, if a player wants to take his family with him, he will have to bear the entire expenses on its own. A senior Indian player had also asked BCCI on this, but his request was rejected. The board wants this rule to be strictly implemented.
Quoting the BCCI formula, PTI reported, “If there is any change, there is a different thing, but at the moment the families of the players will not be able to go with them. A senior player asked about this, but he got a clear answer that the board’s policy would be followed. “
Who can be those senior players?
Among these senior players, the most potential names can be of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are also considered senior players, but Hardik has recently been divorced from Natasha Stankovic, and Jadeja’s wife Rivaba, who is also a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, does not usually not be seen on a cricket tour.
In such a situation, the biggest estimate goes to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, because both families are often seen with him on tours.
