Delhi: Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi recently expressed his opinion on the hot debate with South Africa’s young batsman Matthew Bretzke. The incident occurred during a match of the ODI tri -series, when Shaheen came in his way while taking the run in the 28th over of the first inning. Due to this, there was a mild physical contact between the two players and then the debate broke out.
Shaheen admitted that he was trying to harass Bretzke so that he could take his wicket. However, he also made it clear that the dispute was limited to the ground only and after the match, both shook hands and talked in a friendly atmosphere.
Shaheen said in an interview, “Matthew did not say anything before. I was just trying to tease him so that I could take a wicket. Whatever happened on the field, it ended there. After the match, we met, shook hands and became good friends. “
Due to this incident, Shaheen was fined 25% of the match fee. He was found guilty of violation of Rule 2.12 of ICC, in which unfair physical contact with a player, umpire or other person is considered against the rules.
